Britney Spears’ fiancé Sam Asghari appears to have thrown shade at her ex Justin Timberlake, and it’s all thanks to some very recognisable song lyrics.
The singer dated Justin between 1999 and 2002, while she and Sam were first linked in 2016. However, it seems like there’s still shade to be thrown between the pair.
Sam’s apparent reference to Justin came via a recent Instagram Story, where he shared a screenshot of a Variety article titled, ‘Britney Spears’ Fiancé Sam Asghari Thanks Pop Singer for Helping Put His Acting Career “On the Map”‘, during which Sam thanked Britney for his success.
The actor and model then added the text, “Bringing sexy back is cool and all but bringing real back in Hollywood is even sexier,” along with a laughing and a wink emoji – and fans reckon the “sexy back” reference is a nod to Justin’s 2006 single, erm ‘Sexyback’.
Sam’s post, of course, didn’t go unnoticed by fans, who were quick to share their thoughts on the whole thing via Twitter.
One shared a screenshot of Sam’s Story, writing, “Sam shading Justin Timberlake LOL,” while another did the same, adding, “Did Sam just shade JT?”
Meanwhile, one fan simply wrote, “Did Sam Asghari just drag Justin Timberlake?” so it seems like they’re pretty set on the potential meaning behind Sam’s post. This content is imported from Twitter.
