Royal Police Tell All About Prince Andrew
As if this story wasn’t bad enough already, we now introduce a stuffed animal obsession.
Prince Andrew was labelled as a ‘self-absorbed’ man by a former royal police officer, who also claimed that the disgraced Duke of York has been disrespectful to authorities.
Talking to The Sun in a recent interview, former royal officer Paul Page, who was stationed at the Buckingham Palace for six years, revealed that the disgraced Duke of York had ‘failed’ to cooperate with authorities over his connections to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
As per Page: “Prince Andrew’s a self-absorbed, obnoxious, horrible little man who is disrespectful to those below him.”
The scathing comments come a day after Andrew’s alleged friend and Epstein’s close aide, Ghislaine Maxwell, was sentenced to 20 years in prison for procuring girls for Epstein’s paedophile sex ring.
As for Prince Andrew, he was accused by Virgina Giuffre of sexually assaulting her as a minor in the early 2000’s as part of Epstein’s sex trafficking ring.
He eventually reached an out of court settlement with Giuffre, continuing to deny the allegations brought against him.
Speaking in a new documentary about the embattled royal and his friendship with the late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, ex-Buckingham Palace guard Paul Page said Andrew and Ghislaine were likely more than friends.
He told the upcoming doco Ghislaine, Prince Andrew and the Pedophile that Ms Maxwell was a regular visitor from 2001, the year Andrew and his sexual abuse accuser, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, were photographed together.
“From the way she was allowed to enter and exit the palace at will, we realised – suspected – that she may have had an intimate relationship with Prince Andrew,” Mr Page said.
“A colleague of mine remembered her coming in four times in one day. She kept coming in and out, in and out,” he added.
A former friend of Ms Maxwell made similar comments in the doco, which is set to air on Britain’s ITV on Wednesday (AEDT).
“I got the sense that Prince Andrew and Ghislaine had probably been girlfriend and boyfriend in the past,” Euan Rellie said in the film.
“They had an easy warmth around each other.”
Stuffed toy obsession
In a bizarre twist, Mr Page also claimed that Andrew was known for having “50 or 60 stuffed toys” on his bed at the palace.
“If those bears weren’t put back in the right order by the maids, he would shout and scream and become very abusive,” claimed the ex-cop who worked in the Royalty and Specialist Protection Command for six years.
Sunrise Royal Editor Rob Jobson said viewers of the doco should take Mr Page’s claims “with a grain of salt.”
“He actually did six years in prison for fraud, so I’m surprised he’s quoted on a television program. He was jailed in 2009,” Jobson revealed on Tuesday.
“He also wasn’t a protection officer, he was a static policeman who stood outside, he wouldn’t know the intimate details of what was going on.”
Andrew’s legal nightmare
Prince Andrew is being sued by Ms Giuffre, who has claimed that Mr Epstein and Ms Maxwell trafficked her for sex with Prince Andrew three times.
In her civil lawsuit brought against the Queen’s son in a New York court, the Australian-based woman says the alleged abuse started when she was just 17.
Andrew has strongly denied the allegations, which last week led to him being stripped of his military honours, royal patronages and from using the title “His Royal Highness,”
He will fight the upcoming lawsuit as a private citizen.
Ms Maxwell is still behind bars awaiting sentencing after being convicted of sex-trafficking underage girls for Mr Epstein, who killed himself while awaiting trial in 2019.
Her lawyers are appealing the jury decision, after it was revealed jurors failed to disclose their own childhood abuse that they then used to sway deliberations.
The 60-year-old is facing up to 70 years behind bars.
