On Wednesday morning, the football world learned some troubling details about the charity started by Russell Wilson and Ciara.
An investigation by USA Today “found that Wilson’s organization reported it spent almost $600,000 — or just 24.3 cents of every dollar — on charitable activities in 2020 and 2021 combined and nearly twice as much, $1.1 million, on salaries and employee benefits in that span, according to federal tax records.”
The sporting world wasn’t too thrilled by the latest development. Some couldn’t help but make a joke at Wilson’s expense.
“Charity fraud…let’s ride,” one fan said.

“It’s sad that most charities are like this. Researching cancer charities for my brother’s trust was eye opening. If you can donate to food banks your money goes way further,” another fan said.
“Russell is a fraud, everyone knows that. Add this story to the pile,” added a third.
Wilson’s first year in Denver didn’t exactly go as planned and now this. It’s been a rough few months for the former star quarterback.
