Several well-known Hollywood celebrities, including Bill Murray, Rooney Mara, and Claire Foy, experienced being stranded outside the 2023 SAG Awards venue in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

Video footage shared by Variety co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh captured the moment when they were temporarily prevented from entering the ballroom located within the Fairmont Century Plaza hotel.

“Total chaos at the SAG Awards as Claire Foy and Rooney Mara are not being allowed inside the ballroom of the Fairmont Hotel — they’re told they need to wait for the Fire Marshal to let them and hundreds of other guests inside,” Setoodeh tweeted.

The “Ladies Who Punch” author added, “Even Bill Murray has to wait. This is madness!”

During the incident, Claire Foy, aged 38, appeared slightly annoyed as she conversed with another person in the queue, while Rooney Mara, aged 37, maintained a stoic expression while chatting with someone else.

At the same time, Bill Murray, aged 72, was seen scanning the room with a security guard standing close by. It is not clear what caused the delay, but social media posts suggest that the issue was resolved by 5 p.m. local time.

Prior to the congestion, the group of stars walked the red carpet in an array of sleek looks.

Foy dazzled in a yellow Prada gown paired with a sparkling clutch and diamond jewelry. Mara, for her part, turned heads in a sheer black-and-white Alexander McQueen number and minimal accessories.

Both women are nominated for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture for their work in “Women Talking.”

And Murray — who was last nominated for a SAG Award in 2016 for “A Very Murray Christmas” — made a dapper black suit pop with a multicolored bowtie.
