Alec Baldwin is facing yet another legal blow connected to the deadly Rust movie set tragedy, and insiders say the ongoing pressure is taking a serious toll on the actor. Friends reportedly fear the 67-year-old is nearing a breaking point as his legal troubles show no signs of slowing down.
The latest lawsuit comes from Seth Kenney, the owner of the company that supplied the gun used on the Rust set. Kenney filed suit against Baldwin and the estate of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, who was fatally shot during filming in October 2021. The weapon involved was a Pietta .45 Colt revolver.
Kenney claims Baldwin and others, including Hutchins’ widower Matthew Hutchins, unfairly blamed him for the tragedy, turning him into a scapegoat and damaging his reputation in the aftermath.
This new filing adds to a long list of legal challenges Baldwin has faced since the incident. While the former 30 Rock star was cleared of involuntary manslaughter charges in July 2024, sources say the damage to his career and finances has already been done.
“The hits just keep on coming,” one insider revealed. “Even when he’s cleared, the legal bills alone are crushing. We’re talking hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars.”
According to the source, acting work has largely dried up, expenses have climbed, and Baldwin has had to rent multiple properties, putting additional strain on his finances. “At best, all he can do is write some of it off on his taxes,” the insider added.
The stress reportedly extends beyond Baldwin’s professional life. He is also said to be struggling to keep his 13-year marriage to Hilaria Baldwin intact. Sources claim tensions have grown as Hilaria looks to revive her own entertainment career following her exit from Dancing With the Stars, while Alec remains at home caring for their eight children.
Baldwin has previously admitted that he’s lost at least five major acting roles since the Rust fallout and has said the ordeal has taken years off his life.
According to insiders, money has become another major point of conflict at home. “Hilaria likes the best of everything and Alec always went along with it,” a source said. “Now he’s trying to cut back and live more modestly, and that’s creating a lot of tension.”
With mounting legal battles, financial strain, and personal challenges all colliding at once, those close to Baldwin say the pressure is relentless—and there’s still no clear end in sight.
