A heartbreaking video showing former Nickelodeon star Tylor Chase homeless on the streets of Los Angeles has sparked an outpouring of concern from his co-stars and fans alike. Chase, 36, who is best known for his role as Martin Qwerly on Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, was filmed in Riverside, California this September looking disheveled and visibly struggling.

In the footage, a woman approaches Chase, initially mistaking him for a Disney Channel star. When she recognizes him, he corrects her, saying, “Nickelodeon… Ned’s Declassified.” The brief exchange, combined with Chase’s appearance, has left viewers heartbroken, with many taking to social media to express their sadness.

Chase’s former co-stars, including Devon Werkheiser, Daniel Curtis Lee, and Lindsey Shaw, addressed the situation on the Ned’s Declassified Podcast on September 24. Lee described the news as “scary,” sharing that he initially felt angered by the video, questioning why someone would film someone in such a vulnerable state. “I was upset with myself because I felt powerless… I didn’t want to believe it at first,” Lee admitted.

Shaw expressed similar feelings, adding that she would love to visit Chase and “just love on him.” “I miss Tylor, I love Tylor so, so much,” Shaw said. Werkheiser also spoke candidly about how hard it is to witness a beloved friend in such a difficult position, noting, “It’s painful and shocking to see where he is currently at… it’s hard to see someone you know and love in this situation.”

Chase, who grew up in Arizona, began his acting career in the early 2000s. In addition to his iconic role in Ned’s Declassified, he appeared on Everybody Hates Chris in 2005 and starred in the 2008 film Good Time Max alongside James Franco. Fans of the actor are now rallying to support him, hoping that his co-stars can connect with him and offer the help he clearly needs.

The video and subsequent podcast discussion have sparked a broader conversation about mental health, addiction, and the struggles that many former child stars face. As his co-stars expressed, while there may not be much they can do from afar, their love and concern for Chase are evident.

  1. Another druggie, don’t feel sorry at all. What did that other druggie do, oh, he kill his parents. People like this needs to be put out of their misery and save many souls that would die at their hands.
