In a scary turn of events, the Minnesota Vikings’ team plane was forced to return to the airport shortly after takeoff due to mechanical issues. NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported the unsettling news, leaving fans on edge as they waited for an update.
The Vikings quickly issued a statement confirming the incident: “Shortly after departing, the team plane experienced mechanical issues that required a return to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.” Thankfully, everyone was safe, and the team assured fans they would be boarding a second plane soon, with their arrival at Newark International Airport expected later that evening.
Vikings cornerback Isaiah Rodgers also took to Instagram to reassure fans, confirming that the team was okay.
Despite the scare, the Vikings are scheduled to face off against the New York Giants at 1 p.m. ET, as originally planned.
