A reality TV figure is now facing one of the most serious charges possible after a shocking death behind bars in Las Vegas.

Chad Ollinger, who starred on Discovery Channel’s Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch, has been charged with open murder after his cellmate was found dead inside a Las Vegas jail, according to reports.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said corrections officers conducting routine checks at the Clark County Detention Center on Friday discovered a male inmate lying motionless inside a shared cell.

Officers entered the cell and observed that the inmate had suffered apparent blunt force injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said Ollinger, who was housed in the same cell as the victim, was immediately taken into custody. Detectives later determined that a physical altercation occurred between Ollinger and the inmate prior to the man’s death.

A spokesperson for the detention center confirmed that Ollinger now faces a charge of open murder.

The arrest marks a dramatic escalation in Ollinger’s legal troubles. He had already been incarcerated since October after being arrested as a fugitive from another state and was facing a contempt of court charge at the time of the incident.

Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased inmate, and officials said the investigation remains ongoing as detectives continue to piece together what led to the deadly confrontation inside the jail cell.
