‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ star Ian Ziering is facing serious accusations more than two years after a chaotic road rage fight went viral on Hollywood Boulevard.
According to court documents obtained by People, 61-year-old Ziering has been hit with a civil complaint in Los Angeles County from 20-year-old Jacob Hernandez, who claims the actor attacked him during a heated altercation on New Year’s Eve 2023.
Hernandez is suing for assault, battery, emotional distress, and negligence, alleging that Ziering “suddenly exited” his Mercedes-Benz and shoved him without warning — causing him to fall into another rider and crash their bikes on the busy street. The complaint accuses Ziering of using his fame to twist the story in his favor and feed “misleading information” to police and the media.
Hernandez was later arrested for felony vandalism but prosecutors dropped the case in mid-2024. He now says the ordeal left him with severe anxiety and panic attacks, claiming Ziering “vilified” him in the press.
Ziering’s side of the story, however, was captured on video by TMZ. The footage showed the actor running from a group of bikers as chaos broke out in the middle of traffic. At the time, the LAPD said the fight began after a group of motorcyclists were “driving recklessly.”
Ziering later addressed the incident on Instagram, saying he only got out of his car — with his 10-year-old daughter inside — to check for damage before things escalated. “I navigated to protect myself,” he wrote, adding that the encounter left him “deeply concerned about the growing boldness of such groups who disrupt public safety.”
Now, Hernandez wants a jury trial and is seeking both compensatory and punitive damages.
