Israeli actress and model Tal Berkovich has died in a car accident at the age of 41, it was confirmed by several media outlets Friday.

Berkovich was killed Thursday in a crash outside Telalim while visiting Israel to spend time with her family. She was traveling with her brother, Gil, on their way to their mother’s birthday celebration when their vehicle collided with a truck. Gil, 40, was critically injured and remains hospitalized at Soroka Medical Center. The truck driver sustained minor injuries.

Born in Kiryat Tivon, Berkovich began her performing career as a dancer, training in Israeli ballet and performing with the Bat-Dor Dance Company. She later transitioned into acting, appearing in the satirical Israeli television series Paparazzi in 2006–2007.

After the show, she moved to London to study acting before eventually relocating to Los Angeles. There, she continued building an international career, working on both Israeli and American productions. Her credits included television projects such as Payday and Perfect, the 2017 film Don’t Forget Me, and advertising campaigns in Israel, including work for the brand INTIMA.

In 2011, Berkovich also appeared on Dancing with the Stars, further raising her public profile. More recently, she participated in the ninth season of the Romanian cooking competition Game of Chefs, which aired just months before her death.

In a 2019 interview with Maariv, Berkovich spoke candidly about her early experiences in Los Angeles, admitting the city initially shattered her expectations. She said she came to realize that glamour and success did not automatically bring happiness, leading her to explore spirituality and study Kabbalah.

“I touched it and saw that not everything glitters,” she said at the time. “I started to investigate and learn, and it brought me a lot of joy and peace. I know myself better. I have an internal peace.”
