Snoop Dogg’s family is mourning a heartbreaking loss after his granddaughter, Codi Dreaux Broadus, passed away, according to an emotional announcement from his daughter, Cori Broadus.
Cori, the youngest child of Snoop Dogg, shared the devastating news on Instagram alongside a black-and-white photo of herself holding her baby girl.
“Monday; I lost the love of my life. My Codi,” Cori wrote.
Her fiancé, Wayne Deuce, also paid tribute in a separate post, expressing the depth of his grief. “I been the saddest since u left me Codi Dreaux. But I know u at peace. Daddy will always love you,” he wrote.
Codi’s life began with significant medical challenges. Cori, 26, gave birth to her daughter extremely prematurely at just 25 weeks after developing HELLP syndrome, a severe and life-threatening complication related to preeclampsia. Doctors performed an emergency C-section to save both mother and child.
Following her birth, Codi spent 10 long months fighting in the neonatal intensive care unit. Earlier this year, the family finally experienced a joyful milestone when Cori was able to bring her daughter home on Jan. 6.
The cause of Codi’s death has not been publicly disclosed.
Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., has not yet spoken publicly about the loss. However, his son shared a message of support for Cori on Instagram, writing, “Lil sis we got you forever.”
The family’s posts have prompted an outpouring of condolences from fans, many expressing sympathy for the young parents who endured months of hope and hardship before facing this unimaginable loss.
