A short but uncomfortable exchange between a pizza delivery driver and a customer has gone viral after it was caught on a doorbell camera during a week of dangerous winter weather.

The clip, widely shared across social media, shows a delivery driver arriving at a home with a pizza and knocking on the door. After the customer signs the receipt and hands it back without immediately adding a tip, the driver turns and starts walking away — still holding the food.

“You can come get it,” the driver says while heading toward their car.

Seconds later, the driver adds, “We’re not delivering for no tips today,” before telling the customer they would have to pick up the order themselves.

The moment quickly ignited online debate, with viewers split over whether the driver’s reaction was understandable given the icy conditions — or completely out of line.

Speaking with Inside Edition, the customer involved, Jaylen Howard, said things escalated before he even had a chance to tip.

“So when he came, we did the transaction or whatever,” Howard explained. “I got the receipt and signed for it, and he snatched it out of my hand and walked away.”

Howard said the situation was eventually resolved when another driver showed up with his order.

“Yeah, I got the pizza,” he said. “Another guy came out.”

He also pushed back against the idea that he wasn’t planning to tip at all, saying he intended to leave $15 on the $29 order.

“I intended to tip,” Howard said. “It just happened too fast.”

The incident took place on January 25, 2026, as snowstorms swept across large parts of the U.S., making roads hazardous and complicating deliveries. Areas near Washington, D.C., where Howard lives, were among the regions impacted by the severe weather.

Online reactions poured in almost immediately. Some commenters sympathized with delivery drivers braving icy roads and long hours, arguing tips are especially important during extreme weather. Others said withholding food that had already been paid for crossed a line, regardless of tipping expectations.

Domino’s later addressed the incident in a statement to PEOPLE, confirming the driver was employed by an independent franchise.

“The behavior of the driver in this video is completely unacceptable,” a spokesperson said. “The franchisee has reached out to the customer to apologize and has terminated the driver.”

As the clip continues to circulate, it’s become another flashpoint in the ongoing conversation around tipping culture, worker expectations, and what’s fair — especially when winter storms turn everyday deliveries into risky trips.
