Newly released photos suggest that Prince Andrew may have used Queen Elizabeth’s cherished Sandringham House for at least one encounter linked to Jeffrey Epstein.
A black-and-white photo from the Department of Justice (DOJ) reveals Andrew, 65, lying across the laps of several women—whose identities have been redacted—in the saloon at Sandringham, according to The Times. Among the people in the photo is convicted Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell.
Sandringham House, a long-time royal family retreat, is traditionally where the royals gather for Christmas and New Year’s, a custom that Queen Elizabeth started in 1988.

The photograph is one of many documents released from Epstein’s estate, made available on the DOJ website on Friday, December 19. The image adds further insight into the controversial friendship between Andrew and Epstein, who died in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.
In October, Andrew was stripped of all his royal titles, including the title of Prince, following multiple scandals, particularly his connection with Epstein.
Epstein, who was convicted in 2008 for soliciting sex from a minor, had long been associated with Andrew, with the two being photographed together in 2000 at Mar-a-Lago, the Florida estate of former President Donald Trump.
In 2015, Andrew became legally entangled in the Epstein scandal when Virginia Giuffre filed a lawsuit alleging that she was trafficked by Epstein and forced to have sex with Andrew at the age of 17. The prince has continuously denied these allegations.
Andrew formally stepped back from royal duties in November 2019 after a widely criticized BBC interview regarding his ties to Epstein. In 2022, Queen Elizabeth stripped him of his military titles and royal patronages following his attempt to have Giuffre’s lawsuit dismissed. The following month, Andrew settled the case with Giuffre out of court for an undisclosed amount.
Giuffre, who tragically died by suicide in April 2025 at the age of 41, later revealed in her posthumous memoir that Andrew had claimed “having sex with me was his birthright.” This revelation further intensified public scrutiny of the prince’s actions and ties to Epstein.
